The Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS) is a leading international peer review journal, with high impact and global reach.
It seeks to disseminate high-quality clinical and translational scientific research in order to enhance international standards of care in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. The Journal now also seeks to expand its educational remit and develop its online content, and support evidence-based practice.
JPRAS Open is the second title in the JPRAS stable, providing an output for lower impact papers, educational material, and case reports.

The Journal has a strong Editorial team with a range of subspecialty remits, and is seeking to reduce processing times, provide an ever-better author and reviewer experience, and continue to develop its international standing. We are looking for a new Editor to be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Journal.

Duties will include:

  • - routine liaison with the publisher
  • - advising ̨ÍåÁùºÏ²Ê Council by means of the Committee of Management on all aspects relating to the Journal, including choice of publishing decisions, financial matters, matters of editorial policy and matters of style
  • - directing the overall strategy of the journal in cooperation with the Committee of Management[MJ(O2] and the other Editors
  • - developing, wherever possible, the journal’s profile and reputation
  • - possessing a vision, and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal
  • - ensuring that the journal’s aims, scope and content respond to any changes of direction in the field of study to incorporate newly emerging work
  • - acting as an ambassador for the journal
  • - managing affiliation agreements with suitable national / international professional bodies
